Bringing AI Into Indigenous‑Centred Administration

It’s been a little while since my last post. The work has been moving and so have I — just at a quieter pace. Returning here feels like reconnecting with a shared space, ready to continue offering the steady, values‑aligned support that sits at the heart of Red Raven.
And to be shifting from Reflections into this next chapter: The Digital Raven. A space for steady sharing, small insights, and the practical ways AI is supporting Indigenous‑centred administration.
My path into AI was shaped by the people I support. The realities inside Indigenous administrations, the shared effort, and the desire for a kinder way to manage the growing administrative load.
Before anything else, I want to acknowledge the assistants, administrators, managers, and leaders I’ve worked alongside over the years. The ones who shared where things felt heavy, where clarity was needed, and where systems could feel more manageable. Their experiences helped me see my practice in a new way. They reminded me that the tools we use shape the pace and quality of the work — and that there was room, real room, for technology to support Indigenous‑centred administration without replacing the heart of it.
Nearly thirty years of walking alongside Indigenous administrations taught me how to listen deeply, bring calm to complexity, and build systems that honour relationship, pace, and sovereignty. This is the work I love — supporting people, shaping clarity, and creating systems that help leaders breathe a little easier. AI simply became another tool that supports that work, not the centre of it.
AI shows up quietly in my practice. It helps gather scattered notes into something clear. It helps shape documents so leaders can focus on vision instead of formatting. It brings steadiness to places that often feel rushed or overwhelming. These small supports make a meaningful difference — but they sit alongside the core of what Red Raven offers: relational, values‑aligned administrative support rooted in trust and transparency.
I don’t believe administration is neutral, and I don’t believe technology is either. Both can reinforce systems that were never designed for us, or they can be used intentionally to make space for Indigenous ways of working. Red Raven chooses the latter. This practice remains grounded in relational accountability, data sovereignty, and steady, heart‑forward support.
It’s not just about getting tasks done. It’s about creating room for you to breathe, focus, and lead.
I’m arriving here with a renewed sense of direction for this Digital Raven space — steady, clear, and ready for what comes next.
Thank you for being here,
Thank you for walking this next part of the path with me.
